Every animal at Bay Area Humane Society is special, but here are a few that have really become staff favorites. With some help from our sponsors, they are getting a little time in the spotlight in hopes of catching your attention and your heart! Please enjoy reading their stories and if you or anyone you know might be able to welcome them into your family, let us know!
Kristo
Kristo is a very strong and muscular guy with a feisty personality! Always ready to lunge and leap at any feather or string you want to shake! Kristo has a hearty appetite, and would love for someone to take him home who's ready to dine him like the king that he is! He is appreciative of all his loyal servants, and will reward you with purrs and an occasional kiss!

Cyrano celebrated his birthday here at the shelter, shortly after being surrendered because his loving person for 7 years passed away! : ( Cyrano is a shy boy at first, but a big ball of sweetness nonetheless! All cats love a good scritch under the chin, and Cyrano's no exception. Topping the scales at 16 pounds, Cyrano could use a fun-loving human to open him up and give him some exercise! Please stop by and find the big, grey cutie hiding in his favorite cat cave! Like all sidekicks, he’s just plain good company. Likes attention, and also likes his solitude. He doesn’t go looking for trouble but he’s no scaredy-cat either. His favorite toys are the cat charmer and the feather wand – as long as you are making them move!

Sandy
Sandy is a 5 year old Domestic Shorthair who loves her nap time!! She is a lager cat that may not be as playful as the little kittens but Sandy is young at heart. I can picture her perched near a window, loving the view of birds and critters lurking outside. Sandy would be a great companion for anyone needing a calm feline to pass some tranquil time together. She is also ready to go home today since she has been spayed.

Chance

Meet Chance … a Pharaoh Hound / Pit Bull Terrier Mix. That’s right, even Egyptian royalty can find themselves without a pyramid to call home! Chance was surrendered by his first family because they felt they simply didn’t have enough time to keep up with his enthusiasm and energy. At just 9 months old, this guy’s got energy! The Pharaoh Hound in Chance is known to be an intelligent, trainable, playful and active breed, sociable with other dogs and with people; occasionally stubborn, yet can be very trainable when appropriate positive training methods are used. Pharaoh Hounds tend to have a strong hunting instinct, and caution should be observed if around small pets such as cats, birds, and rodents. Chance is likely to bond deeply with his people and thrive best when he feels included as a member of the family – could you be his new family?
