Here at the Bay Area Humane Society, each animal enjoys kind and fair treatment. Each animal is considered as a creature with the right to freedom from pain and fear. Each animal gets the fullest chance possible to find a loving owner and be part of a happy household.
We could not approach our work that way if it were not for the support of the people in the community; people like you who love animals, and who act responsibly with those in their care. Member contributions keep the doors of our shelter open and ensure that there is heat for the animals and lighting for the building. Every BAHS program depends on the contributions of our members!
BAHS members are united in their love for animals and concern for their welfare. You can be a part of a caring, concerned, compassionate community by becoming a member of the Bay Area Humane Society.
The Bay Area Humane Society & Animal Shelter, Inc. is funded entirely with private contributions. Many people don't realize that we do not obtain funding from city, state, or federal governments. On an annual basis, we care for approximately 6,000 animals.
When you become a member, you will be joining our efforts to promote the humane treatment of animals, reunite lost pets with their owners and provide protection, care and shelter for unwanted and homeless companion pets. You will also be kept informed of news and upcoming events by receiving our quarterly newsletter, "Tales of Tails", and invitations to our special events.
